DAYS 1-3   ANGELA Biologist

Hi name is Angela I’m a biologist. I'm in the Amazon with Taylor Black, Hunter Ackerman, and Annie Williams. In this journal you will hopefully learn more about the rainforest. I'm going to take you through the rainforest with this journal. I will tell you all the animals we encountered. Well, there wee tons of monkeys swinging from vines and we also saw leopards lurking among the trees.

Let me tell you about what it feels when you enter the rainforest. The first thing that hits you when you step into the rainforest is the heavy air. The air is so heavy with oxygen and humidity. It's an almost  tangible thing which just kind of envelops you. The next thing that hits you is the sheer immensity of the trees and incredible amount of different types of vegetation.  There are always gibbons swinging in the thick vegetation.  There are also toucans scanning the ground for food.  On the ground,  the centipedes and millipedes have so many legs they are impossible to count.  It's amazing that chickens live in the rain forest.

The biodiversity of the rainforest is the immense height and the crammed space for the plants and animals. There are about 300-400  different species of plants in an acre.
