July 8,2005 Day 4
Dear Reader,
Today we are going to research some of the places the rainforest people live. Some live in Brazil and are in small
and scattered isolated clusters. The native people live deep in the rainforest called the hinterlands and the basins of the Amazon. Some of the jobs here you may think are different from ours and they are. While the men make tools the women make clothes and trade clothes. The children go to school , but do not get much schooling. It has been fun finding these things out.
July 9, 2005 Day 5
Dear Reader,All four of us girls were sitting in he tent. It was so hot and when we opened the tent it got really humid inside. Then Hayley and Julia went went to get some water at the river . They where gone a long time so Amber and I went to look for them. Then we found them getting water at the river. So we started back , but we got lost. We where walking when we found a boy, he looked about 5 years old. Then he started running and we followed him. Then he took us to his village. Most of the men where wearing lion cloth, and most of the woman were wearing wrap around skirts. Other people where wearing clothes like ours except theirs where worn out. That was awesome to see these people!
July 10 , 2005 Day 6
Dear Reader,
When we went back to this little boy's village we met his parents we could barely understand them. They invited us to a traditional celebration. We came on a good day because everyone in the Cuna Indian tribe celebrates with us. First we ate a big feast there was deer meat, pig meat , alligator meat , bananas, and other fruit. The food wasn't good but we ate it anyway because it was a traditional celebration. Then we danced in a big circle. The people danced weird but we danced with them anyway. Then the celebration was over , and we went back to our tent.
