Essential Questions:  

UNIT E.Q.:  How do bats impact our environment?

  • Why do you think it is important to learn about bats?

  • How do the special characteristics of bats help them adapt to their environment?

  • How are bats and humans alike, yet different when comparing diet, physical features, and habitat?

  • How do bat myths and literature affect a human's perception of bats?

 

 

 

 

2nd Grade  and 3rd Grade Project: 

~~~Bat projects will be presented on November 12 for 2nd and 3rd graders. ~~~

                               Project Guidelines     Project Rubric

  • Students will research a specific bat during class time and at home.

  • The focus of the research will be:  Description (including type of bat - mega or micro), Habitat, Food, Predators, Interesting Facts (above and beyond).

  • Students will present their bat in a creative way (no posters and lectures).

  • Students will need to answer unit essential questions in presentation.

Students MAY use the ideas found on the "Going Batty" research menu in presenting their bats.  Also the menu could be used for "Above & Beyond" opportunities.
