My name is Jennifer Kurpiewski. This is my ninth year teaching. I took some time off while my children were young and after substituting all year for the past two years in several grades long term, I feel confident getting back into full time teaching.

Last year I taught 1st grade all year at Dailard Elementary. The year prior I taught 4th, 3rd, kindergarten, special education, music, and did intervention for 4th/5th grade.  Previously, I worked for three years at Knox Elementary (grades 4 & 5) and three years at Freedom Crest Elementary (grades 1-3). I graduated from San Diego State University in 2001 and received my credential from SDSU's Accelerated Block in 2002 (teaching kinder and bilingual 4th). I received my Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from SDSU in 2008. I obtained my GATE (Gifted and Talented Education) certification in 2019.

I have a background in music, dance, and theater.  I studied music and dance from Ghana, Africa for four years at SDSU under professor John Flood and Akayaa Atule.

I am really into food and fitness. I can be found at many different gyms when not at work. I enjoy dancing and lifting weights.

Three years ago I got into coding and look forward to teaching an intro to coding as well as coding my robots as time permits. I also had some fun in April of 2018 attending the robotics workshop at Legoland.

I enjoy working with a diverse staff and student population. I look forward to meeting YOU the parents, guardians, and community members this year. I know that this will be a great year and a great partnership team: the administration and staff, myself, you, and most importantly your child.
